This role is for an experienced piercer who shares our passion for creating exceptional client experiences.
Minimum Job Requirements:
No less than two years’ experience as a piercer.
Exceptional customer service skills and bedside manner.
Evidence of the training and/or experience necessary to obtain a body art license in New Mexico.

About the position:
This is NOT a body piercing apprenticeship, but we can help an established piercer advance their knowledge and skillset.
Our piercers are APP members, and we comply all membership requirements.
You will need a body art license to work in New Mexico, and we will assist in the process if needed. This will require you to have current Bloodborne Pathogens, First Aid, and CPR certification, as well as licensure in another state/jurisdiction or proof of having training equivalent to our state’s requirements. If you do not work in a state with licensure, you will need tax returns for the past 2-3 years verifying your employment as a piercer.
Our studios are high volume, so you must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. If you are accustomed to slower pace but interested in this position, we can help you adapt.
About the work environment:
We asked our team to finish the sentence “You will enjoy working here if…” and here are some of their answers:
“you are a people person who loves creating a welcoming environment for a diverse group of people from all walks of life.”
”you have a passion for the industry and wanting to expand your knowledge on body piercing.”
”you enjoy a fun, creative environment where you can let your artistic view show.”

”you are interested in quality jewelry and its many benefits/characteristics.”
”you want to be a part of a passionate team and community.”
”you want to help clients express themselves and affirm their style and identities, further helping them express it to others."

Most of our jewelry is bagged and pre-sterilized, and we have two Statim2000 autoclaves at each location to process anything sold from displays. We provide any tools/PPE you need to do your job well.
Business hours/work shifts: Full-time employees typically work 4x 10 hour shifts per week, and have 3 days off. We are open for 9 hours a day (7 on Sundays), and our team is scheduled to arrive 45 minutes early to prep for the day, and stays around 15 minutes after to clean and close up. We have scheduled lunch break, you can choose to block off 30 or 45 minutes.
Our hiring process: We will contact qualified candidates to set up interviews via Zoom. If this goes well and we both feel it could be a good fit, we will extend an invitation to come out for a guest spot so applicants can experience our work environment and we can get to know each other better. For guests, we pay for New Mexico Body Art Guest License fees (licensure is required) and provide airfare and housing, as well as a commission on services performed.
