Healing Multiple Piercings at Once: What You Need To Know
We know how exciting it is to plan out your dream ear curation or add more sparkle to your look. We love helping our clients achieve their piercing goals—at the same time we also want to make sure your healing process is smooth and successful. If you’re thinking about getting multiple piercings at once, here’s what you need to know.
How Many Piercings Can You Get in One Visit?
Our piercers prioritize your safety and healing above all. While we understand the temptation to get everything done at once, we typically limit the amount of piercings per session.
Why the limit?
Your body needs energy to heal each piercing properly. Too many fresh piercings at once can extend healing times.
Certain areas (like cartilage) require extra care and patience.
If you’re getting multiple piercings in one area, inflammation from one can affect the others.
Custom Curations
At Evolution, we love working 1:1 with our clients to create custom curations. Oftentimes, multiple piercings are needed to achieve the desired look. But trust us—rushing the process can lead to setbacks.
Your body heals a piercing the same way it heals a wound, and overloading your immune system with too many healing piercings at once can make the process more difficult. Getting new piercings while others are still healing can make it harder for your body to manage, and may even cause complications with piercings that were healing just fine. That’s why we take the time to plan out your piercings strategically, ensuring each one heals well before moving forward with the next.
Aftercare for Multiple Piercings
While the cleaning process is typically the same—rinse 2–3 times daily with a sterile saline solution—managing multiple healing piercings requires extra diligence.
Placement Matters – If your piercings are close together, irritation from one can affect the others.
Cartilage Considerations – If you get both ears pierced at once, keep in mind that you can’t sleep on them. Since cartilage piercings take months to heal, this means committing to sleeping on your back. If you’re a side sleeper, we recommend piercing one ear at a time.
Patience is Key – Just because one piercing feels healed doesn’t mean the others are. We recommend waiting until we confirm before taking a break from aftercare.
If you’re someone who heals piercings easily and follows aftercare diligently, getting multiple piercings at once might work for you. But if you’ve had healing challenges in the past, it’s better to take a slower, more intentional approach. Either way, we’re here to guide you every step of the way!
